TIGER-CATS ADD PAIR TO ROSTER

Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that the team has signed non-import offensive lineman Mark Dewit and import running back/kick returner Marcus Thigpen.

Dewit, a 6-3, 306-pound native of Calgary, Alberta spent the last two seasons with the Toronto Argonauts after being selected in the sixth round (42nd overall) of the 2008 CFL Canadian Draft.  The Calgary product suited up in 36 games with the Argos before being released last week. 

Thigpen, a 5-9, 193-pound native of Detroit, Michigan became the first player in Indiana history with over 1,000 rushing yards (1,621), receiving yards (1,028) and kickoff return yards (2,009).  He recently attended training camp with the Saskatchewan Roughriders after originally joining their practice roster on October 2, 2009.  Thigpen has also spent time with the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles and Denver Broncos.

The Ticats also announced that the team has released import running back Demetris Summers and placed non-import offensive lineman Cody Husband on the suspended list.
