The Tiger-Cats have added import receiver/kick returner Brandon Banks to their roster, the team announced today.
Banks, a 5-7, 153-pound native of Garner, North Carolina, spent three seasons (2010-12) with the Washington Redskins after finishing his collegiate career at Kansas State. In 41 games with Washington, Banks returned 119 kickoffs for 2,856 yards and one touchdown and 100 punts for 937 yards. He also added 35 receiving yards and 43 rushing yards on offence.
During his two seasons at Kansas State, Banks was named Big 12 Special Team Player of the Year, first-team All-Big 12 kickoff returner/punt returner and second-team All-Big 12 wide receiver as a senior. He registered 123 receptions for 1,754 yards (14.3 avg.) and 10 touchdowns, 57 kickoff returns for 1,625 yards and five touchdowns, 22 punt returns for 213 yards and 18 carries for 236 rushing yards and a touchdown in 24 games with the Wildcats.
