Get to know the new host of Ticats TV, Carly Agro...
Hi, I'm Carly Agro, and for me, being here in TigerTown and working for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats brings back so many memories. My family taught me the Oskee-Wee-Wee Cheer when I was a little girl and I remember coming to Ivor Wynne Stadium to cheer on the Ticats on Labour Day Monday while they battled it out against the Argos.
Sports have always been a part of my life, and I have my father to blame for that -- he gave me a soccer ball when I was three and I've been playing ever since.
Soccer has taken me places I never really thought I could go, and it helped me meet some truly amazing people. Being an athlete has taught me a lot about myself, where I want to go, and how to approach so many challenges in life.
I grew up in Burlington, but I headed to Miami for University when I was 18 to follow my dream of playing NCAA soccer.
Eventually I took my studies and soccer cleats to UMBC in Baltimore. I caught the Broadcast Journalism bug when I spent time working for Baltimore's WBAL TV after graduation.
It's great to be home... completing my graduate program at Sheridan was an amazing experience.
I feel very fortunate to be a part of the Ticats family here in Hamilton.
I know that if my grandfather, John, could see me here working with and for the city, the league, and the players he devoted so much of his time and energy to he would be proud. He helped found the CFLPA and his name lives on in this league as every season the John L. Agro award is presented to the league's most outstanding special teams player.
I'm really looking forward to bringing my energy, enthusiasm, and love for all things football to the City of Hamilton, this football club, but most of all to the amazing fans this team is so lucky to have!
