Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that the team has signed non-import receiver Dave Stala.

“We’re excited to add an experienced Canadian player like Dave to our offence,” said general manager Bob O’Billovich.  “He brings a tremendous amount of versatility to our team as he’s an accomplished kicker and punter as well as an outstanding receiver.”

Stala, a 6-2, 205-pound native of Myslenice, Poland has spent the last six seasons with the Montreal Alouettes, recording 145 receptions for 1,852 yards and seven touchdowns in 58 games.  The Alouettes sixth round (50th overall) selection in the 2003 CFL Canadian Draft has also punted 24 times for 932 yards (38.8 average).

Stala, who was raised in Hamilton, was an AUS All-Star as receiver, kicker and punter during his university career at St. Mary’s.

The Ticats also announced that the team has released non-import wide receiver Chad Rempel.
