The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that quarterback Brian Brohm has signed with the team and will be on the field this morning when the Ticats begin mini-camp at McMaster University’s Ron Joyce Stadium.
Brohm, a 6-3, 230-pound native of Louisville, Kentucky, finished his NCAA career at Louisville with 10,775 passing yards, 71 passing touchdowns and a completion percentage of 65.8%. He was named the Big East Offensive Player of the Year in 2005 and earned all-conference selections from 2005-07 en route to becoming the leading passer in Big East history. In 2007, Brohm was named the MVP of Louisville’s Orange Bowl victory over Wake Forest.
The 27-year-old was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the second round (54th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft and spent a year in Green Bay before joining the Buffalo Bills practice roster in November of 2009. In two seasons with the Bills, he threw for 252 yards in three appearances.
Brohm has spent the last two seasons with the UFL’s Las Vegas Locomotives.
