DOUG MALONE   Offensive Line Coach

Doug Malone returns for his second season as the Tiger-Cats offensive line coach in 2012.

Before joining the Ticats, Malone spent three seasons at Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina as interim head coach and offensive coordinator.  He joined Presbyterian College after one season as the offensive coordinator at Western Carolina.  

Malone served as a guest coach with the Calgary Stampeders during their 2010 training camp.

From 1999-2006, Malone coached at Tennessee Tech, serving seven seasons as offensive coordinator before assuming the role of interim head coach in 2006.  The Golden Eagles posted record-setting seasons in 2001 and 2002, becoming only the second offensive unit in school history to boast a 2,000-yard passer and 1,000-yard rusher.  He also served as assistant Athletics Director in the athletics department during his tenure at Tennessee Tech.    

Malone also spent a total of 13 years at Wingate, serving eight seasons as offensive coordinator before leading as Head Coach for five years.  In 1997, he led the Bulldogs to an 8-3 record, establishing a new school mark for wins.

He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at UTEP, where he worked with the offensive line, before joining California State University as their linebackers coach and kicking game coordinator.

Malone holds a bachelor's degree in physical education and health from Carson-Newman College and a master's degree in sports sciences from the United States Sports Academy.

A native of Greeneville, Tennessee, Malone and his wife, Jenny, have two daughters, Megan and Molly, and one son, Derek.  They also have one granddaughter, Kenry.
