JIM DALEY   Special Teams Coordinator

Jim Daley brings a wealth of CFL knowledge to the Tiger-Cats staff in 2012 as the team’s new special teams coordinator.

Daley has served in several capacities throughout his extensive CFL coaching career, including tenures as head coach with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2004-05 and Saskatchewan Roughriders from 1996-98.  In 1997, Daley led the Riders to a Grey Cup berth.

Most recently, he assumed the role of special teams coordinator with the Roughriders in 2010, helping Saskatchewan reach the Grey Cup final.  

 In 2007, Daley accepted a role as Senior Advisor of Football Operations and Officiating with the CFL head office, before returning to the coaching ranks as defensive coordinator and defensive line coach with the Edmonton Eskimos in 2009.

In 2004, he joined the Winnipeg Blue Bombers as special teams coordinator and defensive line coach before taking over as head coach on an interim basis.  His CFL coaching career has also seen stops with the Calgary Stampeders and Ottawa Rough Riders in various roles.  Daley earned a Grey Cup ring in 2001 as defensive line coach with the Stampeders.

Before joining the pro ranks, the Ottawa native spent six seasons (1985-1990) as head coach at the University Ottawa, where he was named the OQIFC Coach of the Year twice.  He’s also been the head coach of the CJFL’s Ottawa Sooners.
