MIKE GIBSON OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR

Mike Gibson became the Hamilton Tiger-Cats offensive coordinator on December 10, 2008 after spending two seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders as Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Line Coach. In 2010, he added the title of running backs coach.
Under Gibson's direction in 2008, the Riders averaged 124.6 rushing yards per game and Gene Makowsky was named the West Division's Most Outstanding Lineman.
Prior to his time in Saskatchewan, Gibson served as the offensive coordinator with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2005 and 2006. Gibson previously spent 2001 as the Bombers offensive line coach, helping Winnipeg achieve a 14-4 record and a Grey Cup appearance.
After completing his playing career at Western Maryland in 1978, Gibson began his coaching career at his alma mater as a graduate assistant. In 1980, Gibson moved to Cornell University as their offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator. In 1982, Gibson joined Boston University as their offensive coordinator and quarterback coach – a position he held for six years. Following one season as Assistant Athletic Director and Recruiting Coordinator at Rice University, he spent four seasons as Temple University’s offensive line coach. He then joined Colgate University, where he served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for two years.
Gibson’s first foray into the CFL came in 1995 when he was a guest coach with the B.C. Lions. He then spent four seasons (1995-1999) as the OT/TE and Special Teams coach at Rutgers University before joining Winnipeg in 2001. Gibson then moved to the University of Louisiana, where he served as the offensive line coach for three years.
