Acquired

Traded from the B.C. Lions along with the rights to non-import kicker Ara Tchobanian in exchange for the Ticats second round (9th overall) selection in the 2008 CFL Canadian Draft.

Career

2012: Played in seven games, starting six, in his fifth season with the Tiger-Cats…recorded 34 defensive tackles, one quarterback sack, one fumble recovery and one pass knocked down.

2011:  Started all 18 games in his fourth season with the Tiger-Cats.  Playoffs: Played in both of the Ticats playoff games

2010: Started all 18 games in his third season as a Tiger-Cat...named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player...named a CFL All-Star and East Division All-Star for the second and third times respectively…named CFL Defensive Player of the Week for week 12…his six recovered fumbles tied a Ticats team record…blocked two kicks for the second straight season…also led the team with three tackles for a loss and four forced fumbles  Playoffs: Played in the Ticats Eastern Semi-Final loss to Toronto.

2009: Started all 18 games in his second season as a Tiger-Cat…ranked second on the team and third in the CFL with 94 defensive tackles…led the CFL with two blocked kicks…was named the CFL Defensive Player of the Week for Week 6…named an East Division All-Star for the second straight year and earned his first CFL All-Star nod….nominated as the Ticats Most Outstanding Defensive Player.   Playoffs: Played in the Ticats Eastern Semi-Final loss to B.C.

2008: Started all 18 games during his first season with the Ticats…led the team with 95 defensive tackles, the sixth-highest single season total in Ticats history …recorded 121 interception return yards, including one he ran back 45 yards for a touchdown against Toronto…recorded 14 defensive tackles on June 26 against Montreal, the second highest single-game total in team history…made his Ticats debut on June 26 against Montreal…was named an East Division All-Star.

2007: Started in 11 of the 17 games he appeared in during his second season with the Lions.  Playoffs: Started the Lions Western Final loss to Saskatchewan, recording five defensive tackles.

2006: Played in 15 games during his rookie season with the Lions after signing as a free agent in April… had one interception which he returned 67 yards for a touchdown…made his CFL debut on July 7 in Edmonton…recorded his first career CFL interception and touchdown on September 1 in Montreal when he picked off a Nealon Greene pass and returned it 67 yards for a major.  Playoffs: Played in both of B.C.’s playoff games including their Grey Cup victory over Montreal.

College

Played 46 games at North Texas…recorded 133 tackles and 10 interceptions…switched from safety to corner midway through his career with the Mean Green and played all four spots in the secondary…he became a full-time starter at North Texas in his final two seasons.

Born June 4, 1983 in Elaine, Arkansas. Majored in Criminal Justice at North Texas…is a personal trainer during the off-season.
