
Brandon Isaac was named the Defensive Backs Coach for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on February 1, 2024.
Isaac spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons as Defensive Backs Coach with the Edmonton Elks, where he worked with head coach Chris Jones. Isaac made his coaching debut for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2017 where he also worked with Jones as Quality Control Coach until 2018. Isaac also coached his high school alma mater Blackville-Hilda in South Carolina for three seasons from 2019 to 2021.
PLAYING CAREER
Before making the transition into coaching, the Blackville, South Carolina native had a successful playing career in the CFL after playing NCAA football with the South Carolina Gamecocks as a Safety. During his time with USC, Isaac registered 55 tackles, an interception, and 8 pass breakups in two seasons (2005-07). He completed his college career earning a bachelor’s degree in Criminology.
The 6-3, 208-pound Defensive Back spent eight seasons in the Canadian Football League with the Calgary Stampeders for 2010-11, Toronto Argonauts for 2012-13 and 2015-17, Hamilton Tiger-Cats for 2013-14 and Roughriders for 2014-15. While with the Argonauts, he was coached by Scott Milanovich, where they won the 100th Grey Cup in 2012. During his time in the CFL, Isaac collected 209 tackles, 12 sacks, and two interceptions.
