Casey Creehan was named Defensive Line Coach for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on March 18, 2025. He previously served as the team’s Defensive Coordinator in 2012 and a Special Teams Assistant in 2022.

NCAA CAREER

Creehan began his coaching career at Lehigh University as an Assistant Coach (Defense) in 1999 before moving on to Southern Illinois University in 2000 as an Assistant Coach. From 2001 to 2002, he served as an Assistant Coach at Clarion University, later transitioning to James Madison University as an Assistant Coach in 2003-04. Returning to the NCAA in 2009, he worked as the Defensive Line Coach at Eastern Michigan University. He resumed his NCAA coaching career as a Head Coach at Lyon College from 2018 to 2019, followed by Peru State College from 2020 to 2021. His most recent NCAA roles were Defensive Coordinator at Concord University in 2023 and Head Coach of the Missouri Valley College Viking football program in 2024.

CFL CAREER

Creehan has an extensive CFL coaching history, starting with the Montreal Alouettes in 2008 as a Linebackers Coach. He returned to the league for roles with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers as Defensive Line and Linebackers Coach (2010-11, 2013), the Hamilton Tiger-Cats as Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Line Coach (2012) and Offensive and Special Teams Assistant (2022), the Toronto Argonauts as Defensive Coordinator (2014-15), and the Edmonton Elks as Defensive Line Coach (2016-17).

EDUCATION

Creehan earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Grove City College in Pennsylvania and a Master of Science in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation from Emporia State University in Kansas. The Pittsburgh native was captain of the 1998 Grove City football team, leading them to a Presidents’ Athletic Conference championship.
