Ed Hervey
General Manager
Hervey was promoted to General Manager on December 5, 2023 after originally being named Assistant General Manager & Director of Player Personnel on December 24, 2021.
Most recently, Hervey served as the General Manager of the BC Lions for three seasons (2017-20). The Houston, Texas native brings 21 years of Canadian Football League experience to the Ticats’ front office, both as a player and an executive.
Before joining the Lions, Hervey spent 10 years in Edmonton (2007-16), beginning his career as a scout in 2007. He was promoted to Head Scout in 2009 before being named General Manager in 2013 and VP of Football Operations in 2015. Under Hervey’s leadership, Edmonton reached three consecutive division finals (2014-16), winning the 103rd Grey Cup in 2015.
Hervey enjoyed a successful career on the field before making the transition to the front office. The 6’2, 195-pound receiver joined Edmonton in 1999, and would go on to amass 6715 receiving yards, 476 receptions and 43 receiving touchdowns over his eight year career. He was named a CFL All-Star in 2001 and 2003 and won the Grey Cup with Edmonton in 2003 and 2005.
A fifth-round pick (166th overall) of the Dallas Cowboys in 1995, Hervey became a Super Bowl Champion (XXX) with the Cowboys in his rookie season. He also spent time with the Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos before making the move north of the border in 1999.
