Elijah Sandweiss

Linebackers Coach
Elijah Sandweiss was named Linebackers Coach for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on March 18, 2025.
Sandweiss brings extensive coaching experience to the Tiger-Cats, entering his first CFL season after a successful tenure at the NCAA level. Most recently, he served as Senior Defensive Analyst and Linebackers Coach at Mississippi State University (2024-25). Before that, he was Defensive Analyst and Assistant Linebackers Coach at Texas A&M (2023-24) and spent two seasons at the University of Mississippi (2021-23).
He began his coaching journey as a Defensive Graduate Assistant at the University of Texas at Austin (2020-21) and served as Defensive Coordinator and Inside Linebackers Coach at Howard University (2018-20). Sandweiss also gained professional experience as a Training Camp Intern with the NFL’s Detroit Lions.
A graduate of the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in sports management, Sandweiss started his football career as a student equipment and field manager. He later joined Michigan’s coaching staff as a Football Recruiting Assistant (2015-17) and Defensive Football Analyst (2017-18).
