
James Tuck was named Co-Special Teams Coordinator of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on January 12, 2026.
He was promoted from his role as Running Backs and Assistant Special Teams Coach, which he started in March 2025.
Tuck transitions to coaching after a ten-year playing career. The Aurora, Ontario native was drafted 31st overall by the Montreal Alouettes in the 4th round of the 2014 CFL Draft. He spent three seasons in Montreal (2014-16) before joining the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2016. Tuck then played for the Toronto Argonauts in 2017, followed by the Edmonton Elks (2017-21), and had a stint with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2022. He returned to Montreal in 2023, where he won a Grey Cup. Tuck concluded his playing career with the Tiger-Cats in 2024 as a Running Back, appearing in 18 regular-season games and recording 14 catches for 121 yards along with 13 special teams tackles.
Tuck’s CFL career totals include one carry for five yards, 30 catches for 261 yards, and 66 special teams tackles.
The former player completed his bachelors in business and society from York University where he also played as a member of the Lions’ defensive line.
