Szott was selected by the Ottawa Redblacks in the fourth round of the 2020 CFL Draft and signed with the team in 2021. He made an immediate impact as a rookie, dressing for 14 games and starting 13 along Ottawa’s offensive line.
In 2022, he spent time on the practice roster and injured reserve before being released midway through the season, ending his tenure in Ottawa after two seasons.
