Mitchell was signed as a free agent by the Lions in July 2024.
Highlights:
2024: The Hamilton Tiger-Cats selected Mitchell in round eight (70th overall) of the 2024 CFL Draft. He would suit up in one pre-season game with the Hamilton and recorded one defensive tackle before being released as part of their final training camp cuts. Mitchell joined his hometown BC Lions on July 27.
College:
2019-23: Mitchell suited up in 36 games with the UBC Thunderbirds and registered 130 total tackles (67 solo, 63 assisted), nine tackles for a loss, six sacks, three fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and a defensive touchdown. Led all defenders with ten tackles and recorded one sack in the T-Birds’ 2023 Mitchell Bowl win over St. Francis Xavier as the Birds advanced to the Vanier Cup against Montreal.
Personal:
Mitchell attended North Vancouver’s Windsor Secondary. His grandfather Walt Bilicki suited up in 78 games as a linebacker with the Lions from 1961-65 and was part of the 1964 Grey Cup championship squad.
