CAREER

2022-2025: Argonauts
Wynton McManis became one of the CFL’s premier defensive playmakers during his three seasons with the Toronto Argonauts from 2022–2024. After joining Toronto in 2022 following a stint with the Miami Dolphins, he made an immediate impact with a career-high 88 defensive tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, and a game-winning pick-six in the Touchdown Atlantic game. He was named both an East Division All-Star and CFL All-Star while earning Toronto’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player award.

He followed that up with another All-Star season in 2023, recording 79 tackles, four sacks, and four interceptions — including two returned for touchdowns. In 2024, he remained a defensive leader with 57 tackles, a sack, and another interception returned for a touchdown, while delivering one of the most memorable playoff runs in franchise history. He tied an Argos playoff record with 10 tackles in the East Semi-Final and capped the year with six tackles, three knockdowns, and a 58-yard interception return in Toronto’s win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the 111th Grey Cup.

In 2025, he continued his strong play despite appearing in 13 games, totaling 62 defensive tackles, four sacks, two interceptions, and a forced fumble. Across four seasons in Toronto, McManis built a reputation as one of the league’s most consistent linebackers and biggest big-game performers.

2021: Played 1 game for New Orleans Saints. Recorded no stats. Released October 12…Signed with Miami Dolphins November 24.

2020: Released by Calgary Stampeders August 25…Signed with New Orleans Saints August 29.

2017-2019: Stampeders
McManis began his CFL career with Calgary in 2017 after a brief stint with the San Francisco 49ers, making an immediate impact by recording his first two career sacks in his CFL debut against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

He became one of the league’s top special teams players in 2018, leading the CFL with 25 special teams tackles while helping Calgary capture the 106th Grey Cup over the Ottawa Redblacks. In 2019, McManis transitioned into a larger defensive role and posted a breakout season with 86 defensive tackles, nine special teams tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble, cementing himself as a key piece of Calgary’s defence.

2016: Signed with San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent May 12. Played 2 games. Recorded no stats. Made NFL debut December 24 at Los Angeles Rams.

COLLEGE

2012-2015: University of Memphis
Played 47 games. Recorded 110 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, an interception, 2 forced fumbles and 3 fumbles recovered. Had 62 tackles 5 tackles for loss and 3 sacks in his senior year.

PERSONAL

Attended Olive Branch High School. Played quarterback and linebacker. Won state 6A championship in his senior year as team went 17-0. Had 13 tackles in state championship game. Named First Team All-Region and Second Team All-State. Selected to Sports Illustrated All-America team. Also played basketball and ran track.
