Ted Goveia
General Manager
Ted Goveia was named General Manager of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on December 5, 2024.
Goveia previously spent 10 seasons in the Winnipeg Blue Bombers organization, most recently serving as the club’s Senior Assistant General Manager and Director of Player Personnel. Throughout his tenure in Winnipeg, Goveia was instrumental in the team’s U.S. and Canadian scouting efforts while also playing a key role in contract negotiations. The Blue Bombers qualified for the playoffs eight times, earned five Grey Cup appearances and captured two championships during his time in the Blue and Gold.
The Burlington, Ontario native began his CFL career with the Toronto Argonauts, joining the club in 2010 in the dual role of Running Backs Coach and Director of Canadian Scouting, before later being promoted to Director of Player Personnel. Over his four seasons in Toronto (2010-13) Goveia helped the Argos reach the playoffs on three occasions and was instrumental in helping the organization’s rebuild, culminating with a Grey Cup championship in 2012.
Prior to joining to the CFL, Goveia spent 15 years coaching football at the Canadian University level, including stops at his alma mater Mount Allison University, McMaster University and the University of British Columbia in various roles.
Goveia also held coaching positions in the CJFL with the Burlington Braves and Oakville Longhorns, and is a former of the Football Canada Board of Directors.
