MNP By the Numbers: East Semi-Final Edition

28 – The Ticats rushed the ball a season-high 28 times in the East Semi-Final against the Argos, topping their previous high of 25 that was set in Week 17 against the Alouettes.
150 – The Black and Gold offence was the epitome of a balanced attack on Sunday afternoon, rushing for just shy of 150 yards (148) and passing for a tick above 150 yards (151) in the game.
+15 – From the 5:45 mark in the third quarter until the end of Sunday’s game (20:45 of game-time), the Ticats outscored the Argonauts 19-4.
132 – In the same 20:45 of game-time, Ticats quarterback Jeremiah Masoli accounted for 122 total yards with a perfect passing record. Masoli completed 7-of-7 passes for 115 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for 17 yards and another score on five carries across the 21-minute time span.
47 – Justin Medlock’s 47-yard field goal on the final play of the game was just the seventh time in CFL history that a kicker has won the game for his team on the absolute final play of the game. It was the second time in Ticats history that such a feat has been accomplished (Paul Osbaldiston, 1998 vs. MTL) and was the second-longest game-winning playoff field goal in CFL history (Paul Osbaldiston, 1998 vs. MTL, 54 yards).
36 – Next weekend’s clash with the Redblacks will be the Tiger-Cats 36th appearance in the East Division Final since 1950; in that same time period, Ottawa has reached the East Final 25 times. Hamilton holds a 20-15 record in past East Final games, while Ottawa’s record is 9-16 in their 25 appearances.
1981 – The last year that Hamilton and Ottawa squared off in an East Final game; the Ticats lost the game 17-13 at home. The only other East Final between the two cities was in 1976, when the Ticats fell 17-15 in Ottawa.
16-15 – In the all-time playoff series between Hamilton and Ottawa CFL teams, Hamilton teams have been victorious in 16 of the 31 games.
9-7 – In 16 total single-game East Division Finals — since the CFL transitioned from the two-game series to the single-game format in 1973– the Ticats own a 9-7 record.
1999 – The Tiger-Cats are aiming to repeat their 1999 Path to the Grey Cup; in their last Grey-Cup winning season, Hamilton won the East Semi-Final at home, won the East Division title on the road, and then won the Grey Cup in Calgary.
