8 – When the last pick was called, the Tiger-Cats had selected eight players in the 2016 CFL Draft.
2 – Two trades were made during the draft. Kent Austin and his staff traded their first round pick (5th overall) and third-round pick (23rd overall) in exchange for BC’s first round pick (3rd overall) and their fourth round pick (30th overall). Hamilton would then later acquire the Lions’ third-round pick (21st overall) after offering up both of their fourth-round picks (30th and 32nd overall).
3 – Mercer Timmis was named first-team All-Canadian in three consecutive years (2013-2015) during his time as a member of the Calgary Dinos.
4 – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats were attracted to winners in this year’s draft. Between the members of this year’s draft class, four Vanier Cups were won, along with eight conference championships.
12.5 – Terrell Davis and Mitch Barnett combined for 12.5 of UBC’s 23 sacks in 2015 during their national championship season.
68 – This year’s draft class will look to continue their scoring ways. The group scored 68 touchdowns in their collegiate careers, including one by Terrell Davis as a running back, prior to his switch to linebacker at UBC.
3,102 – The three receivers selected by the Tabbies combine for a total of 207 receptions and 3,102 receiving yards in college.
7 – Prior to the Tiger-Cats selecting Brandon Revenberg, it had been seven years since Hamilton had selected an offensive player in the first round.
13 – Thirteen years ago was the last time the Hamilton Tiger-Cats made a third overall selection. In 2003, running back Julian Radlein was selected out of UBC.
