Tiger-Cats Acquire National Linebacker Williams In Trade With Argos

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced Monday, the football club has acquired national linebacker Jordan Williams in a trade with the Toronto Argonauts.

First-round draft pick in the 2024 CFL Draft (5th overall)
Third-round draft pick in the 2024 CFL Draft (24th overall)
Third-round draft pick in the 2024 CFL Draft (25th overall)
Conditional third-round draft pick in the 2025 CFL Draft

Williams, 29, suited up in 14 games for the Toronto Argonauts in 2023, including 13 starts, registering 52 total tackles, including five tackles for loss and one pass knockdown. The 6’0, 230-pound native of Baltimore, Maryland has appeared in 46 games over his three seasons in the CFL with the Argonauts (2023) and BC Lions (2021-22) totalling 245 total tackles with 16 special teams tackles, one quarterback sack, one interception and three forced fumbles.

Williams was originally selected by the Lions in the first round, first overall, in the 2020 CFL Draft. In his first season, he set the record for most defensive tackles by a Canadian rookie (92) and was named the league’s Most Outstanding Rookie (2021). He played his college football at East Carolina University (2014-17) and spent time professionally with the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers (2018).
