Revenberg and Woodmansey to participate in Sleepless in our Cities

Hamilton Tiger-Cats offensive linemen Brandon Revenberg and Coulter Woodmansey will be participating in United Way Halton & Hamilton’s Sleepless In Our Cities initiative this year, which is proudly supported by FirstOntario Credit Union.

The Sleepless in our Cities initiative aims to raise awareness for poverty and homelessness in local Halton and Hamilton communities. Participants in the event will sleep in their cars on February 23 to raise funds and gain a better understanding of the daily challenges that many people in our community face.

“The Sleepless in our Cities initiative has become a staple for the Tiger-Cats, thanks to our community partnership with United Way Halton & Hamilton.” Said Courtney Stephen, Director of Community Partnerships, Hamilton Sports Group. “We’re incredibly proud of Brandon and Coulter and look forward to doing our part to help them raise awareness for the members of our community who need it most.”

Revenberg, Woodmansey and all other participants in the 2024 event will sleep in their cars on February 23, beginning at 10 p.m. and will remain there overnight until 8 a.m. the following morning. Donations are now being accepted and will be matched up to $130,000 thanks to generous community members June and Ian.

“This experience event is not just about fundraising. It’s a platform to shine a light on the often-overlooked issue of poverty in our local community.” Said Brad Park, President and CEO of United Way Halton & Hamilton. “We appreciate Coulter, Brandon and the Tiger-Cat’s dedication to raising awareness and creating a space for open dialogue. It’s through these conversations that we can help foster a supportive environment for those in need.”

As longtime partners of Hamilton Sports Group, FirstOntario Credit Union will be making the first donation of $2,500 to the players’ joint fundraising effort.

“Supporting our partners and our community where we can make a positive difference is what drives FirstOntario to get involved in initiatives like this.” Says Joanne Battaglia, SVP, Marketing, Communications & Partnerships. “We are committed to raising awareness around homelessness and working to help find solutions.”
