Hall of Fame Writer Steve Milton Joins Hamilton Sports Group

Multiplatform Columnist will deliver exclusive written, video and audio coverage of the Ticats and Forge FC

Hamilton Sports Group announced Wednesday, that Canadian Football Hall of Fame writer Steve Milton has joined the organization as a Multiplatform Columnist, covering both the Tiger-Cats and Forge FC.

In his new role, Milton will provide fans with unparalleled coverage and unprecedented access to the players, coaches and competition delving into their stories like never before. His work will be featured on both club websites, and he will serve as a regular contributor on the Ticats Audio Network and the Forge Audio Network, ensuring fans stay engaged and informed.

“I’m truly excited for the opportunity to join the organization as a multiplatform columnist,” Milton said. “This is about building upon the great work that is already being done for both clubs and is just the next step in the evolution of providing fans with the top-tier coverage that they have become accustomed to. Hardcore and casual fans of the Ticats and Forge can expect the same analysis, context and, yes, Milton humour they’ve been reading in Hamilton for nearly four decades. I’m very eager to get to work and bring the fans closer to these iconic clubs, beginning with the Forge home opener on Saturday.”

Milton spent the last 38 years working as a columnist at the Hamilton Spectator, where he covered all things Hamilton sports, including the Tiger-Cats, Forge FC, Hamilton Bulldogs, Toronto Rock and more. He has covered the CFL since 1979 and covered the CPL long before the league’s inaugural season in 2019.

“When we first launched the Ticats Audio Network in 2021, we set out to provide our fans with behind-the-scenes storytelling that would engage and inform Ticats fans like never before and Steve’s addition is just the next evolution of that plan.” Said Matt Afinec, President and COO of Business Operations of Hamilton Sports Group. “Steve is a hall-of-fame writer who will provide our fans with the stories of the players and coaches they care about across written, audio and video platforms. We’re excited to have him on board and look forward to seeing his work beginning with the Forge home opener this Saturday.”

The Canadian Football Hall of Fame writer’s addition is the next step in the organization’s efforts to deliver unparalleled coverage of both its clubs, joining an already robust lineup of talent including R.J. Broadhead, Luke Tasker, Bubba O’Neil, Mike Daly and more.
